I just got your Katrina tiles and wanted to do something with red and silver that I could use mainly for high school seniors. I started with a gray underlayer but when I put my red on top, it turned to pink.
I ended up painting the tiles black then when I put the red down, it turned a rich maroon. Some of the black showed through which added to the look. We then got a tube of Rub and Buff Silver from the craft store and lightly touched the raised areas and came up with a very rich looking backdrop.
It was a bit of trial and error but it turned out so nice, I ordered more panels to make this a 4 panel x 5 panel backdrop. My grandson thinks it works great!
