Q1. What's the purpose of a PVC Crown Molding?

PVC crown moldings and cornices are placed around the edge of a ceiling at the top of the walls. They're used to hide the joins and are available in simple designs, although many people install PVC Crown Moldings to add an architectural detail to their room with the goal of making their ceilings look more elegant and beautiful.

Q2. What is a Faux Crown Molding?

A Faux/Faux Tin Crown Molding is much the same as any other crown molding or ceiling cornice, but rather than being made from plaster or metal, such as our range of tin cornices/crown moldings or our larger metal cornice range, they're constructed with a PVC material. A PVC Crown Molding has many benefits when comparing to metal, with the main ones being that their lighter and more affordable.

Faux Tin/PVC cornices and ceiling trims are also resistant to moisture, making them a great solution for humid rooms, such as bathrooms, kitchens and laundries.

Q3. Is a Faux Tin Crown Molding different to a PVC Crown Molding?

They're the same thing with a different name. Our range of Faux Tin Crown Moldings are made with PVC, hence "PVC Crown Molding" and as they're a great alternative to tin plated steel (& look just like the real thing!) with very similar designs, that's where the term "faux tin" or "faux crown molding" comes from.

Q4. Is there a difference between a PVC/Faux Crown Molding, Cornice and Ceiling Trim?

In the case of this product range and generally speaking, they're all the same thing.

Some people that are simply looking to hide the joins between the ceiling and walls may refer to these as a faux or pvc cornice, ceiling trim or pvc ceiling molding/edging panel and many other similar terms. Those that are seeking something with that can act as a feature might specifically refer to them as a pvc or faux tin crown molding, but all of these phrases/names are often used interchangeably and they're installed in the same place.
